That My Joy May Be in You

What does Jesus mean when He says, “that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full”?

In John 15:9–11, Jesus speaks these remarkable words on one of His final evenings with His disciples before the cross. Knowing what was ahead, Jesus spoke to them about His love, abiding in Him, obedience—and joy.

In this message, “That My Joy May Be in You,” we consider a kind of joy that is deeper than our circumstances. It is a joy rooted in knowing Jesus Christ, abiding in His love, and walking with Him.

Jesus does not merely tell His followers to seek joy. He points us to Himself.

“These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” — John 15:11

About This Message

Jesus spoke the words of John 15:9–11 on one of His final evenings with His disciples before the cross. In these verses, He shows us that genuine Christian joy is rooted not in our circumstances, but in our relationship with Him.

In this message, we consider five truths from the words of Jesus:

1. Our Joy Begins with Knowing We Are Loved by Christ
2. Jesus Invites Us to Abide in His Love
3. Joy Grows as We Walk in Obedience
4. Jesus Gives Us His Joy
5. Jesus Wants Our Joy to Be Full

At the heart of this joy is the Gospel. Our sin separates us from a holy God, but Jesus Christ bore our sins on the cross, died in the place of sinners, and rose again. Forgiveness and eternal life are offered to everyone who turns from sin and places their faith in Jesus Christ.

The deepest and most lasting joy is found in knowing Christ, abiding in His love, and walking with Him.

That gives the website visitor enough information to understand the teaching without simply repeating everything they just saw above the video.
